about us
where we started
Since its incorporation in April 1997, Studio Elpizo has aimed at echoing hope to the community through “beautiful music and inspiring messages”. We perceived a need for radio programs that offered hope in a world affected by broken relationships, loneliness and other social problems. The aim was to provide a positive alternative to the programs prevalent in today’s broadcast industry. To meet these needs, we established the radio station "Echo of Hope 105.5 FM", later shortened to "Hope 105.5 FM". This English callsign was mirrored in the station's Bahasa Indonesian name: Gema Bentara.
A later realignment of frequencies by the Indonesian Broadcast Authorities forced a change from "Hope 105.5 FM" to "Hope 107 FM". Later, the callsign made another transit from "Hope 107 FM" to "Be107FM", owing to station ID technicalities. However, sharing "hope" is still an integral part of everything we do, and many of our long time listeners still remember us as "The Station of Hope".
Studio Elpizo has collaborated with various respected Christian bands and artistes like Jars of Clay, Parachute Band and Darlene Zschech. They and many others have graced our studios when they stopped by in Singapore.

The topics discussed are relevant to our culture and needs, enhanced with contemporary, easy-listening, Christ-centered songs and sounds.
Besides the Christ-centered content that is broadcast, our station also hosts a thriving small group, called "Hope Cell Batam". Each week's session is broadcast on Be107FM and offers a means through which listeners can be a part of a study group via the radio.
